What SBBASG is
The Strength Bodybuilding Association South Gujarat is the body that organises competitive bodybuilding across the South Gujarat region. Its calendar includes the Man of Steel series, Mr. Surat, Mr. South Gujarat, and the zone-level shows, Katargam Zone among them, that feed into them.
It is an active organisation with a public footprint: an Instagram account with several thousand followers and a few thousand posts, and a Facebook page. Those channels are where it publishes its championship circulars, which is how the record below can be checked.
Named as Joint Secretary, 2022
A Gujarati circular for the 3rd Man of Steel, Mr. Katargam Zone, published 13 September 2022, lists the association's office bearers. Among them: “શ્રી બ્રિજેશ જોષી - (જોઈન્ટ સેક્રેટરી- SBBASG)”, Shri Brijesh Joshi, Joint Secretary.
Named as President, 2025
Two circulars for the 6th Man of Steel series list him as President. The Mr. Surat circular of 19 January 2025 prints “Shri Brijesh Joshi (President- SBBASG)” together with a contact number. That number is +91 98790 69960, the same number S R Gym publishes, which is what ties the listing to this person rather than to another Brijesh Joshi.
The Mr. South Gujarat circular of 3 February 2025 repeats the listing alongside the vice presidents, treasurer and the rest of the committee.

What the affiliation chain actually is
This needs stating carefully, because bodybuilding in India has more than one national body and their names are confusingly similar.
SBBASG's banner carries the marks of the Gujarat State bodybuilding associations, and the state-level chain it sits in runs up through the IBBFF. That is not the same organisation as the IBBF, the government-recognised national federation, despite the near-identical acronym.
So: this site does not claim any IBBF, IFBB, AFBF or Olympic Council association, and does not display their marks. The verifiable statement is the regional one, an office in the South Gujarat association, and that is the statement we make. Anyone in the sport would spot the difference immediately, and claiming the bigger name would discredit the smaller, true one.
Why this page is careful about tense
Association offices turn over. The documents cited here are dated 2022 and 2025; they are the most recent public circulars found. If SBBASG has since elected a new committee, this page should say “served as” rather than “serves as”, and we will update it when a later circular shows a change.
Everywhere else on this site the phrasing is “has served as an office bearer”, which stays true either way.
What the office covers
- It is separate from judging. Holding office in an association that organises competitions is a different function from judging at them, and he holds documentation for both. His judge cards are on the credentials page.

- It is not a national-level position. It is a South Gujarat regional association.
