What a membership here actually gets you
A membership here is the floor, the equipment and the coaching that happens on it. This page is about what that means in practice and how to pick a term. If you came for the numbers, they are all on the fees page — every term, both branches, personal training, online and the day pass.
The short version
₹1,700 a month at either branch. Twelve months is ₹9,000 at Adajan and ₹10,000 at Katargam, which works out at ₹750 and ₹833 a month. Personal training is charged on top and starts at ₹7,000 a month.
What membership includes
Access to the full floor at your branch during opening hours, Adajan from 6:00 am, Katargam from 5:00 am, both to 10:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. Free weights, machines, and the coaching that comes from training in a gym where the owner is on the floor rather than in an office.
If you are new, someone will show you how the lifts work. That is not an upsell, it is how the gym has operated since 1999.
What personal training adds
One-to-one time with Brijesh Joshi: a programme written for you, your technique corrected while you lift rather than afterwards, and your food adjusted around what you actually eat. The published member results range from 75 days to eight months, and the people in them were coached, not just given a card.
More on how personal training works.
How long to sign up for
One month exists and costs ₹1,700, and for a beginner it is usually the right first purchase even though it is the worst value. A beginner spends the first two or three weeks learning to execute the lifts before load can go up meaningfully, so a single month will show you almost nothing about your results — but it will show you the thing that actually decides them, which is whether you turn up four times a week when nobody is making you.
Buy the longer block once you have that answer. Twelve months at Adajan is ₹9,000, or ₹750 a month against ₹1,700 — you pay for about five months and train for twelve. That is a large saving for anybody who keeps coming and a complete waste for anybody who does not, and we would rather you found out which one you are for ₹1,700 than for ₹9,000.
If money is the obstacle rather than the term, say so on the phone rather than not coming. It is a conversation, not a policy.
What is not included, stated plainly
One-to-one personal training. Membership buys the floor and the coaching that happens on it — somebody correcting your lift and holding you to a programme. It does not buy a coach standing with you for every set of every session. That is a separate purchase, charged on top, and it is priced on the fees page.
A written diet plan. You can ask about food on the floor whenever I am there and plenty of members get everything they need that way. A plan built from photographs of your own meals is a separate ₹1,500, and it is included inside personal training rather than charged twice.
Group classes. There is no class timetable at either branch. No aerobics, no Zumba, no spin. If a timetable is what you want, this is the wrong gym and a larger one in Vesu or Pal will serve you better.
Supplements. Neither branch sells them, so nothing gets added to your bill that way and nobody here has a commercial reason to tell you that you need protein powder.
Pausing, moving branch, and stopping
These are the questions people are too polite to ask before they pay, and they are the ones that decide whether an annual membership was a good idea. Moving branch is the easy one: members can switch, free, between Adajan and Katargam. Pausing and refunds are run as conversations rather than printed policy, so ask on +91 98790 69960 before you commit rather than assuming from a website, including this one.
What I will say is that the reason to prefer a shorter term is not distrust of the gym; it is that a twelve-month membership is a bet on your own attendance, and the gym cannot make that bet for you. If you are unsure, the ₹1,700 month exists precisely so that being wrong costs you ₹1,700.
Which branch your membership is for
A membership is bought at a branch, and the two branches are not priced the same beyond the first month: twelve months is ₹9,000 at Adajan and ₹10,000 at Katargam. Katargam opens an hour earlier, at 5:00 am against 6:00 am, which is the difference that matters most to anybody training before work.
If your job or your home moves, you can switch branch at no charge, so the choice is not locked in. Employers enrolling several people should look at corporate membership, and parents of 14 to 17 year olds at teen training. Choose on the journey rather than on the ₹1,000 between them. Over a year, the branch you can reach without thinking about it is the one you will actually use.
What a fair price looks like in Surat
For context rather than comparison: directory sites list Surat gym tiers from around ₹1,000 to ₹3,000 a month, and aggregators quote personal training in India anywhere from a few hundred rupees an hour upwards. Those numbers are written by the directories, not the gyms, and an hourly rate is not comparable to a coached block with programming and nutrition included.
What you should actually compare is: who is coaching you, whether they are on the floor, and what happens in week nine when you stall.
Twelve things worth checking before you pay anyone.
How to join
Walk into either branch during opening hours, or message +91 98790 69960 first if you would rather know someone is expecting you. There is no online checkout, joining a gym is a conversation, and this one wants to see how you move before taking your money.
Fees FAQ
- How much does gym membership cost in Surat at S R Gym?
- ₹1,700 for one month at either branch. Longer terms cost less per month: twelve months is ₹9,000 at Adajan and ₹10,000 at Katargam, which is ₹750 and ₹833 a month. Every rate is on the fees page.
- Is there a monthly membership at S R Gym?
- Yes, ₹1,700 a month at either branch, with no obligation to take a longer block. It is the most expensive way to buy the gym per month and it is the right way to start if you have never held a gym habit, because it costs you little to find out.
- Do Adajan and Katargam charge the same?
- For one month, yes: ₹1,700 at both. Beyond that they differ. Three months is ₹3,000 at Adajan against ₹3,500 at Katargam, and twelve months is ₹9,000 against ₹10,000. Katargam is the Ved Road branch.
- Can I switch between the Adajan and Katargam branches?
- Yes. Members can switch between S R Gym's Adajan and Katargam branches, and there is no charge for it. For freezing a membership or refunds, ask on +91 98790 69960 before you pay rather than assuming from a website.
- How can I pay for S R Gym membership?
- By UPI, bank transfer or card. The same methods apply to personal training, online coaching and the diet plan.
- Is there a joining fee at S R Gym?
- No joining fee is published, which is not the same as promising there is none. Ask on +91 98790 69960 before you join. What can be said for certain is that no supplements are sold at either branch, so nothing is added to your bill that way.
- What does membership include that a cheaper gym does not?
- Coaching on the floor. Whoever is on duty will correct your form and hold you to a programme without that being a separate purchase, which is the whole difference between this and an equipment-access gym. It is not one-to-one personal training; that is charged on top and priced separately.
